How tall should my welding table be? What size legs should I get with my welding table? We get a lot of questions like these every day. So to help you out, we’ve put together a quick guide to help you choose the leg length that will suit your needs.
Welding Table Leg Footing
First I need to mention that we offer two footing options:
I mention this as it affects the adjustable height of your table.
Legs with adjustable disc footing have an adjustable height range of 50mm. This is perfect if your workspace has really uneven floors, or if you need some height adjustability for different jobs.

Legs with levelling castors only have 10mm of adjustable height. It features a rubber insert which can be wound down as needed for locking the table in place.

Please keep the above in mind when deciding on your welding table leg footing.
What length table legs should I get?
Below we’ve listed some common ways that people use their tables and the appropriate leg length for each situation. These recommendations are based on an average person’s height of 5 foot 10 inches.
I only stand at my welding table to work
If you’ve only ever standing at your welding table, then we recommend going with the following sizes:
K16
K28
I sit and stand at my welding table to work
If you do a mix of sitting and standing for different jobs, then we recommend going with the following sizes:
K16
K28
I build up and need to stand on my table
If you’re using your welding table as a base and building up from it, and need to stand on it occasionally (for example, car frame builders) then we recommend going with any of the smaller sizes based on what you think you’ll need.
Safety Disclaimer: The 200mm legs for our K28 table are the only legs that can be safely used when standing on the table. If you opt for longer legs and choose to stand on the table, that is your discretion.
I need a much wider range of table heights!
We hear you! We’ve had a lot of requests from customers to find a solution to this problem. So we’ve started supplying custom hydraulic scissor lifts. We’ll be doing a full writeup on these soon, but the basic specs are:
As an example, here’s a hydraulic scissor lift we built recently for MAXITrans Australia. They needed loading bearing up to 1.5 tonne with a minimum height of 500mm, and a maximum height of 1000mm.

Born and raised in Ocean Grove, Victoria, I’ve always loved working with my hands. During High School, welding became my passion. For over a decade, I’ve been at the heart of the welding industry, mastering techniques from structural steel to custom fabrication. My expertise led to the creation of “KO Welding Supplies” in 2018, a trusted supplier for welders and fabricators across Australia and New Zealand.
Recognising the need for a superior welding table, in 2021 I innovatively tested and launched the KO Welding table. Its precision and adaptability surpassed anything I’d used before. Drawing from extensive feedback, we realised one-size-fits-all wouldn’t work. Thus, koweldingtables.com.au was born, offering customisable, top-quality welding tables with transparent pricing.
Today, we’re reshaping the fabricator’s experience, one tailored solution at a time. You can read more about my experience here.
